Il existe plusieurs possibilit\u00e9s de mise en \u0153uvre comme le montre<br \/>\nl\u2019article de Dudley et al. en utilisant une propagation en espace libre ou guid\u00e9e.Le milieu non lin\u00e9aire le plus favorable \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de supercontinuum est la fibre optique, qui<br \/>\npr\u00e9sente l\u2019avantage d\u00e9cisif d\u2019offrir une tr\u00e9s grande longueur d\u2019interaction et un fort confinement<br \/>\nde l\u2019\u00e9nergie en comparaison des cristaux non lin\u00e9aires. La structure m\u00eame du mat\u00e9riau vitreux,<br \/>\nqui compose la plupart des fibres optiques classiques (fibres en silice dop\u00e9e), poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement<br \/>\nune non-lin\u00e9arit\u00e9 du troisi\u00e8me ordre qui est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plus faible que celle des cristaux<br \/>\ndeuxi\u00e8me ordre) mais qui peut \u00eatre exacerb\u00e9e avec dif\u00e9rents dopages. Dans ces conditions, la<br \/>\npropagation guid\u00e9e est un apport fondamental dans l\u2019obtention des conversions de fr\u00e9quences<br \/>\nqui sont \u00e0 la base de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de supercontinuum.<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Le m\u00e9lange \u00e0 quatre ondes est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne non lin\u00e9aire conduisant \u00e0 des conversions de<br \/>\nfr\u00e9quences n\u00e9cessitant deux conditions particuli\u00e9res : l\u2019accord de phase et la conservation de<br \/>\nl\u2019\u00e9nergie.
