Par cons\u00e9quent, la fabrication d\u2019un laser \u00e0 impulsions ultracourtes consiste \u00e0 construire une large cavit\u00e9 d\u2019amplification et \u00e0 ajouter certains \u00e9l\u00e9ments pour que les modes de la cavit\u00e9 soient en phase en modulant les pertes \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la cavit\u00e9. Des modulateurs actifs tels qu\u2019un AOM (Acousto-Optic Modulator) ou un EOM (Electro-Optic Modulator) peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s.
